Upper Beaches
Door & Window Sill Replacements
The homeowners of an Upper Beaches townhouse had a problem: water was getting in through their brick window sill. The bricks were no longer shedding rain the way they once had, and leaks had started showing up inside the house.
At the same time, they were replacing the front door — and the wooden door sill underneath had rotted.
We chose smooth Indiana Limestone for both. A single solid piece of dense limestone sheds water cleanly, won't rot like wood, and doesn't rely on mortar joints the way a brick sill does — so there's nowhere for water to work its way in.
Working alongside the door installers, we removed the old rotted wooden sill and set the new limestone in place. We then removed the leaking brick window sill and replaced it with a matching Indiana Limestone piece.
The result: two sills that should outlast the rest of the facade, a cleaner modern look across the front of the home, and — most importantly — no more leaks.
